Inside the Net with Amber MacArthur // Episode 8

This week’s Inside the Net features Mike Davidson of Newsvine [ http://www.newsvine.com/ ] which is an excellent social networking news site, which allows members to write stories and contribute, rate stories, seed stories, and more! Right now the service is invite-only, but if you’re lucky enough to have an invite, you’ll find it’s a really awesome service. Aside from being able to make the news, you can feed the news to other people as well-it’s amazing. Amber and Leo discuss the Newsvine service with Mike, what’s in store for it, and when the service might go public.

Digital Life TV // Episode 30

Thursday’s Digital Life TV kicked off with one of the hottest topics of the day; Google opening up Google.cn, it’s Chinese search service, which is being censored to cater to the Chinese government. Well, if there’s profits to be had, I suppose “don’t be evil” is just a motto, after all. The crew reviews the Creative Zen Vision M, yet another “iPod killer” to come to the market…and maybe go by the wayside in the wake of the actual iPod. Plus, slipstreaming Windows XP installs, video games we hate, and tons of viewer questions!

The Mozilla Foundation claims that Firefox 2.0 should be out by summer, how to calibrate an HDTV and a review of a utility that promises to help you, and of course, more viewer questions! Enjoy!

Weezy and The Swish // Episode 33

This week should be a treat for Weezy and the Swish lovers, since there are no guest hosts, no strange antics, and no funny business-okay, there’s plenty of funny business, but Louise, Laura, and Matt just sit down with some microphones between them and talk to one other. Yup. Hot, isn’t it? It’s awesome. Add in some listener participation and random voicemailing, and you’ve got yourselves a show. Enjoy!

Security Now! // Episode 23

Steve and Leo wrap up their discussion on the Windows MetaFile flaw, and Steve is sticking to his guns that it was a deliberate backdoor built into Windows. He’s written an application that can test for the vulnerability in all versions of windows to see if it’s exploitable, and claims that older versions of Windows aren’t quite as vulnerable as newer versions. Head on over for the last word from the Security Now! crew on this topic.

Last week’s episode found Weezy and Laura with Kyle Cease and Ben Gleib, which leads to absolute pandemonium that carries you through the entire podcast; definitely not safe for work (are they ever), it’s right here:

DiggNation // Episode 29

This week on DiggNation are several really hot topics that managed to make their way to the most-dugg stories list this week over at Digg.com; including Kevin Rose getting info from his anonymous source what some of the biggest announcements at Steve Jobs’ keynote speech over 24 hours prior to the announcements themselves-that was a real scoop. A first look at the new TiVO Series 3, Nikson deciding to stop producing all analog cameras (meaning any camera that takes actual film), Google Pack fails to impress, as does the new Google video store, among other things. Infected by Martin Sargent // Episode 4

The newest Infected with Martin Sargent is up and ready for consumption, and to be perfectly honest, I couldn’t exerpt this if you asked me to, it’s just too hilarious:

So here’s the thing: doing a podcast with Joey and The Gator is like doing a podcast with a filthy Keebler Elf who got thrown out of the tree for trying to hack the magic oven and a sexually predacious, hard-drinking version of Babe Winkleman. Essentially, it’s a recipe for not being able to get all three of us together in the same room, at the same time, to press the red button (excuse continued at SargeWorld.com). In the meantime, here’s an interesting interview my new Hollywood friend Orlando Bloom did with my old patron Michael Caine about the future of podcasting.

And there you have it. Enjoy!
