This week’s TWIT is here and ready to go, although all of the RSS feeds for TWIT network podcasts appear to be down and are still down as of this writing! Yikes! So if you’re trying to get your TWIT network podcasts through iTunes or Democracy or another feed-catching player, you’re out of luck, but you can definitely download them directly!
On this week’s TWiT, Leo Laporte, John C. Dvorak, Alex Lindsay, Wil Harris, and Jerry E. Pournelle all gather around the table to hash out some important business; that is to say, John C Dvorak gets to eat his own words! Last week he said that Google would never buy YouTube, and no sooner than the words left his mouth did the deal go down for over 1.65 billion USD in stock from Google. It’s okay though, this isn’t the first time John C has had to eat his own words. I mean, just look at his wikipedia entry!
Also covered on this week’s show are the implications of the buyout, Congress essentially kills online gambling, a group of MacBook owners are mulling a class action lawsuit over the so-called “random shutdown” issue (good for them! Maybe if they all get together in the same room, people will realize there’s all of maybe 10 of them, Apple’s offered support to all of them already, and there’s nothing to this-just another issue amplified by the echo-chamber of the internet), Creative removes FM recording features from its Zen media players, the death of Eudora (about time!), and much much more.
